My friend's birthday is coming up, and she loves Neil Gaimen - and she has also been trying to make a new-ish home a bit more homey (she has moved from urban to rural in India a while ago for work and I think the change has come as something of a shock to her) so I thought I would make a little something to decorate with - Goldie the baby gargoyle is one of my favourite images from the sandman books so I knew it had to be him!

He's stem stitch, on 3 layers of frayed edge appliqu. I was going to wash out the marker you can see where I sketched my image onto the fabric, but then  I actually decided that i liked how it made it look a bit under-done, it seemed appropriately sandman-esque
I'm quite pleased with the finished thing, though there are bits I don't think I did too well (his right foot is awful! the arch and heel especially) so I am vowing not to look to closely now that it's done and mounted!

Thanks y'all for looking - suggestions for next time always gratefully received
