Package 1, received from ironic

From left to right in the picture.
-Something she wears during the autumn months-fleece hat
-An autumn essential-nose warmer (lol! I thought this was funny at first, but it really does the job! I might have to try this out on really cold days around the house)
-Something that keeps her organized-to-do list notebook (prefect because I always make lists)
-Something she uses to decorate-stuffed pumpkins (I already picked a great place to display them!)
-Something that is related to her favorite craft-fabric (such cute fabric-I love it!)
-Something she uses to distress-heavy knee bag for achy joints (I love fabric she crafted this in!)

close up of the cute pumpkins!

Next group photo
-Something related to photography-photos she has taken
-Something related to yarn-knitting needles and some yarn (She said her next box would be full of knitted items!!!!! I cant wait!)
-Something that makes her feel warm-scarf (which is prefect because I wear them all the time in autumn and winter)
-Something that represents her favorite holiday-trick-or-treat bag
-Something with her favorite color-blue comb
-Something related to reading-mini  books
-(some fabric dyes an extra gift!)
-Something that smells like autumn to her-pumpkin body wash
-Something with sentimental to her-star wars lightsaber
-Something local-mints and bag from her college and bumper sticker from her favorite coffee shop

Thank you Ironic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wink Cheesy Grin

You're welcome Haylie! I had a lot of fun making that box. Made me a little homesick and really want christmas/thanksgiving to be here right NOW. Adopting my family traditions to include another, and then explaining it... this is already a really fun swap. I can't wait for round two!

In other news, the package arrived, was delivered, was returned to the post office, and after half an hour on the phone trying to find out at which post office, then waiting in line for ten minutes, I was told that the package was in the office next door, that closed as we were speaking. *grumble, grumble*

Sooo.... I'll be posting pictures tomorrow, it looks like. I'm super excited!

I received from princesspimp81 this week! She totally spoiled me. In fact, when I opened my package I got so excited I squealed! She did an awesome job!!!

First, a picture of the whole lot!

Next we have a candle and soap in scents that she likes-and I do too! The candle is especially yummy! We both like food based flavors!

Candy from the oldest candy factory in her state! The candy canes are sugar plum, pear, chocolate and gingerbread! They are safely hidden from my husband-not that I won't share-but so that I will get some too!  Grin

A recipe box-because cooking de-stresses her.

A turtle ornament-she collects turtles. My husband loved this. He has a thing for turtles too. In fact, whenever he sees one stuck in the middle of the road he pulls over and puts it on the side so it won't get hit!

A cupcake ornament with her favorite color pink. My favorite color too!

A holiday headband to wear during the Christmas season. It is extremely cute and I think you gave me a gift idea for my nieces!

A poinsetta hot pad-which I love!!

This adorable gingerbread man! This is what her favorite Christmas theme is! I love him!!

And the best for last! This bag!!!! I really want to learn how to crochet granny squares and have been in the process of teaching myself. This is perfect!!!!! It honestly is my favorite-though I love everything!!!

Thank you sooo much princesspimp81! This was perfect!!!!

I received my package of Awesomeness from Ms Indigo-roses on Friday but I only had a minute to look at it before I had to rush out again so I didn't get a chance to really *dig* into it until today. My oh My what a great package!!!
Thank you so much Indigo-Roses! I love everything and I'm simply amazed at the crochet! Especially the star!

Oh, wait - the rest of you don't have a clue what I'm 'on' about! So.... here we go!

The "works" all wrapped up! (ok, so I peeked and had to restore the wrapping before photographing... but you guys understand, right?)

the works - unwrapped!

#8 local - Indigo-roses lives near Hershey PA - so some yummy dark cocoa (lucky for me!) I love dark chocolate!!!
#20 2 favorite recipes - Pumpkin apple muffins and Sugar Cookies - perfect for the holidays! Can't wait to try them out (my husband expressed the same sentiment about the pumpkin apple muffins!)
#17 - a selection of teas - also a favorite of mine especially on cool afternoons!
#10 - favorite winter drinks - Hot Chocolate (no explanation required, right!?)

#11 Essential - hand sanitizer! Ms Roses works in a daycare facility and finds this an essential - I work with foreclosed/abandoned homes and find it to be an essential too! (for different reasons but...)
#2 Bath and Body Works - pocketbook sized sanitizers in "seasonal" scents! the orchard one took me right back to New England! Mmmmmm!
#6 - (this made me laugh right out loud and Ms Roses will understand when her package arrives!) Fuzzy socks! but not just any fuzzy sock! They are "Shea infused" and have nonslip soles! (and they happen to be in my favorite color too!!!!) I too, get cold feet in the winter time!

#5 - decorating - this amazing crocheted snowflake!! OMG! I'm trying to learn crochet and tatting and, well, I'm such a novice.... this is so beautiful!
#16 paper - this beautiful paper snowflake! I wish my photo showed the detail more clearly - simply beautiful! I'll have to set it someplace high up to keep it safe until I can hang it for the holiday!

Another shot of the crocheted snowflake and then #14 a book by a favorite author! This looks like a fun read and a chuckle! Will help with stress relief!!!

#25 - a cap!!! Isn't this awesome! I don't have a single warm cap! This will be so great for my morning walks with the doggie (who's name is Katie BTW!)! It's so soft and snugly! And it's beautifully made! (Indigo-roses says that crochet is her "best" craft and I can certainly say that she is very very talented!)

last but certainly not least!
#22 - something given in previous holiday - crocheted potholder and dishcloth - these are to nice to use! *sigh* I doubt if I will ever get anything I crochet to look in anyway as fine as this! Ah well, these are beautiful and I will enjoy them!
and the candy corn - for the *brief* moment it survived in my house.... gone! (I love candy corn too and I'm glad you sent only a sample! I can't stop once I start on it!!!)

Such a lovely package! Thank you so much Indigo_roses! I love it all! I loved reading your note and getting to know you!

I received my package from aheartofglass! There were lots of goodies in there!  Cheesy

The box was wet - it sat on my porch through a snowstorm, but everything inside of it was okay!
Here's it all after I emptied the box

After everything was unwrapped

I received...
1) emergency chocolate
5) leaves to decorate with
6) purple fuzzy socks to wear - aheartofglass laughed because we each sent purple fuzzy socks!  Grin
Cool cards and dice from Nevada Casino, and a Christmas ornament from Las Vegas
9) Two candles from her favorite store - there's Snowman Poop and Christmas Eve.
10) mulling spices
14) Wizard of Oz lucky shoes
15) a purple glass heart filled with stars
16) a pointsettia watercolor card painted by her cousin
19) the 4 seasons in magnets (fused glass) - I love them! The trees around here look like a combination of autumn and winter right now. Silly snow coming in October.  Roll Eyes

26) a Jack-o-Lantern figurine

Thanks for the package, aheartofglass! I enjoyed getting to know you and your holiday traditions!  Smiley

I received a few days ago but have my laptop charger decided to die on me. Anywho, here it goes. . . I got a fantastic package from Arachnea!

All the goodies in some Halloween wrapping.

Fuzzy warm socks that I put on right away. They are great and I love the colors!

Ciders and hot chocolate! I can't wait to try the gingerbread hot chocolate. It sounds delicious.

A neat postcard and chipnuts. Chipnuts are actually pretty good. I wasn't sure what they would taste like but they are addicting.

Bookmarks, a cool sign with a Halloween quote and some ATCs. I've never received ATCs before and I am glad I finally have. They are super neat!

A Halloween necklace, a witch book, a super cool organizer book, a pumpkin paper lantern, and friendship bracelets.

Everything is fantastic and after the poopy few days I was having the package was just a bright light at the end of it.  Smiley Thanks Arachnea!

I received my second package from ironic!!!!! It's amazing! One of the three items she sent me was the one..."utilizing your best craft, make your partner a present for them to open during their autumn/winter holiday/celebration." I debated about opening it for a few hours and then I realized I wouldn't be able to wait until Christmas, so I opened it Wink! I'm glad I did, because the items will come in handy on these cold days!

I will try to post pics soon!

THANK YOU IRONIC!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

I received my second package from Arachnea and it is awesome. I was running late to a cookie party last night and as I was heading out the door, there is a box just sitting on my doorstep. It was actually very picturesque, the way it was sitting there, in the very middle of my doorstep and a little ways from the door as if it was waiting for me. I couldn't wait to open it, so I didn't. This is what I got and again, its awesome . . .

Arachnea learned how to crochet and made me this scarf, which I immediately opened and ran out the door with to go to the cookie party. I also got chocolate covered chipnuts which intrigue me, a chocolate orange bar, and cider. Then Arachnea went above and beyond and made 18 friendship bracelets in various colors for my little students (I'm a preschool teacher). They will love them so much.

A bath poof, handmade eucalyptus tealight candles, bath salts, Sesame Street shaped sugar cubes, and Sesame Street shaped soaps. All to help me de-stress.

Close-up of some soaps.

Unfortunately, there was a mishap. There were 2 chocolate things in the box called Kinder Surprise that did not survive the transport. At least I still get the toy inside.  Grin

It is a terrific package. I am so excited about it all and I know my preschoolers will love their bracelets too. It is all so thoughtful. Thanks so much, Arachnea!!!  Grin

Package 2, received from ironic

Here are the pics from my awesome package from ironic! I was so happy to see knitted items since I don't know how to knit and I love them!

To start off....something for me to stay organized, a cute little coin purse...

Something to give to a friend or family member....scarf and necktie (love the colors!)

The necktie is really cool, I have never seen anything like it. One end tucks into the other end and it has this cool diamond shape (bad description lol!). The photo really doesn't do it justice. I admit I think I am going to have to keep this one for myself! I just love it!

Finally, a gift for me to open on xmas....which I just had to open sooner! Grin
A cool headband and coffee cozie

and fingerless gloves in my favorite color!!!!

Thanks again ironic! I had a great time swapping with you! Cheesy

Glad you liked everything, aheartofglass!

I received my package from aheartofglass today! I love coming home to find boxes on my porch.  Cheesy

Here's everything together - a slumped bottle, stained glass ornament, and two store-bought ornaments for me; a beaded bracelet and glass pendant necklace for me to give to someone; and a "de-stress" kit for me which included tea, bath fizzers, a bath pouf, and a candle. There were also two small glass items - one had a 4-leaf clover and a penny in it with the phrase "Find a penny, pick it up - all day long you'll have good luck!" on it, and the other is purple with the word "Lucky" on it.

Here's just the crafted items -

This ornament had a card included saying how it was made by a Chinese artisan who handpainted the ornament from a small hole in the glassblown ornament. I think it's beautiful!

Thanks!

My partner received my combination package a couple of weeks ago.  I had to resend my package as package 1 was apparently "delivered" but not received by Shablina, and Canada Post/USPS are both being asses about it.  I am going to try to get reimbursed as it was very costly for me to send and contained a lot.  Here is what  I originally sent in my package 1

Lots of store bought to represent several of my favourites - candies such as Coffee Crisp, Sweet tarts, gummies, things representative of my favourite season - Autumn, and a tradition for us, vacationing in Muskoka in the Fall (and shopping in Huntsville which has a a great artist/artisan community - I always pick up things  I love there, and supplies - i also included a little inukshuk charm I bought in the package).  Things that keep me organized, like post its, and a favourite charity, our national blood service.  I love holiday patterns and always have holiday themed socks, so that is why I sent the peppermint swirl socks.  Also, I sent beads and supplies from my favourite store, and of my favourite craft- a beading store, go figure.

Here is one of my favourite family pictures, and a recipe book I made of favourite fall and holiday recipes including notes about them.  One of the microscope slide ornaments I made for everyone last year - my last good one actually.  A resin magnet of a leaf, one of the perfect teeny leaves I picked up on one of our fall walks at the cottage.  A wire worked bookmark to related to reading, and a beaded flower necklace, in a favourite colour.  Something warm was a fleece cowl I sewed, and there was a glass etched match holder/striker as our winter essential, and something edible was some hot pepper jelly I made.  Finally, the something local was a soldered charm with stamps with the skyline of Toronto, and the other side was a stamp of one of our historial forts, made into a chainmaille bracelet.

the match set as we always use our woodstove for warmth and ambience in the fall and winter

I put a lot of work into this package and am so upset that someone probably stole it.  I hope they rot for their thievery.

Here is what I sent in package 2.  I am beyond po'd with the postal services.  I remade about half of package 1, resending some things like the candies, the jelly I made, some info about the charity, etc.  I luckily was able to send another jelly, and had my prototype of my Santa slide ornament, and was able to remake some of the others, like the magnet, the bookmark, the recipe book, etc.

For my actual package 2 -

Beaded snowflakes for her tree or to give away

A box to keep her gift lists, receipts, warranties organized - embroidered sugar skull image on cotton, with the box woodburned, hand coloured, and varnished.

For her stash - a covered craft journal/sketchbook to keep track of patterns and projects, with pockets for pens or patterns, a crochet hook roll with extra yarn needles, a measuring tape, and scissors, and sugar skull stitch markers

I really enjoyed crafting for MAFs, but no thanks to the probable thief, and the postal services involved, this has been a terrible, depressing, anger-inducing experience for me that has coloured my entire holiday season, and I am still in a fight to get my money back - and if they do not reimburse me, then Canada Post is just as much a thief too.

I know this swap seems like ages ago, but since my partner never got a chance to post pics of the items I sent her, I thought I would go ahead and post them.

The first item was the gift for her to open on her holiday. I made a necklace of an owl (one of her favorite animals) perched in a tree, with a full moon in the background.

The next items were gifts to give to friends/family. I made two sets of hand dipped beeswax candles and six little star beeswax floating candles. I also included a little beeswax ornament of a house.

Finally, I made her a de-stress kit. Since she likes Alice and Wonderland and is a coffee/tea drinker I decided to make her a set of mug rugs. I included a set of teacups and saucers and also some biscotti and tea!
