I just finished up my daughter's costume.  Although I was tempted to just buy one this year, I made the time and I am so happy I did.
Not only does she love it, because I used a leotard for the top of the dress, she is super comfy in it (she does not like scratchy things).

Total cost was about $14.00

If you are interested, you can read how I put this together here: http://sewplicity.blogspot.com/2011/10/project-costume-finished.html#more
Thanks for looking!

That is an awesome costume! It looks super comfy and she could wear the dress other times besides Halloween!  It's adorable and so is your daughter!

Very cute!  My daughter tried to change her mind halfway through me making her costume.  She wanted me to suddenly make Strawberry Shortcake.  I think you did a great job, its so cute and comfy looking.

Thankfully she was pretty set on Strawberry Shortcake...my older daughter changes her mind on a daily basis....she will be getting a store-bought costume!
