I made these shoes for my wedding last May. I was looking for gold glitter heels and even bought a pair online but returned them because they were way too expensive (and were kinda tight). So i bought a pair of black heels that i loved and made my own.

first i sprayed them with primer white

then gold

could have stopped there. they looked pretty good (my puppy Theo thought so too)

before i got the glitter on i painted the bottoms pink, then a black heart on each shoe.

to glitter the shoes i used mod podge and a bucket to collect all the dropped glitter for future use. lets just say, i had glitter everywhere for a while (still do)

to finish i added little black bows to the back with hot glue.

i also glued ribbon to the edges which was cute but didn't last through the night, so if i would do this again i'd probably not. or maybe glue before i put the glitter on.

They are really rather splendid as I'm sure you were on your wedding day.

I scratched up the heels on a pair of black heels (that fit so well) two weeks ago at a wedding.  Trying what to do to them...  They fit so well (and being a size 10.5, its not easy to find great fitting shoes!) that I don't want to throw them out.  I THINK I MIGHT SPRAY PAINT THEM!

What brand of paint did you use?

I wear a size 5 shoe - impossible to find these days in stores in the adult section - never thought to spray paint shoes - great idea.  I have a pair in the closet I don't wear because they're badly marked up but I can't stand to toss them out.  I'll try painting them and see how it goes.
