I had been trying to think of what to make as soon as I saw this challenge. I LOVE tape of all kinds (as anyone who has gotten a package from me can attest to) so I have a large assortment of duct tape, which mostly I just hoard. So the opportunity to actual USE some of my stash was oooo so tempting. It took me a bit to decide/find/discover what to make, but eventually I realized I needed a new belt. And since I had bought a wicked belt buckle several years ago at a garage sale that had no belt to go with it, I thought I'd work with that. It is a very distinctive belt buckle though, so I chose to make it into a changeable belt, so I could use which ever belt buckle I wanted to at the time. And since I was thinking versatile and changeable, I also thought I would make it a reversible belt as well. SO now I had a punk/rad/hippie belt...
This last belt buckle was what inspired me to start..and you may notice the extra addition. That is my "survival" tool kit. It has nearly everything I might need in a regular emergency. No, I can't use it to make a fire, but it has all my favo mini tools and several more things.
Here's the outside all by it's self

1. Spool of waxed thread
2. Small bungee cord
3. 2 small bull clips
4. Crank flash light in a small tin
5. 1 water activated cloth tablet (in foil in tin)
6. Small locking box knife
7. Folding pliers with philips and flat head screw drivers, 2 bottle openers/pry tools, file, knife, and saw
8. Four band aids
9. 3 needles
10. 4 aspirin(in foil)
11. Flat head screw driver disk
12. Fine point scissors
13. 13 safety pins
15. Sharpie
16. Small note pad
I used my favo Adirondack snaps. They are large and have a nice heavy grip to them
It all came out nice and thin, which makes me very happy. I used a few long prong studs to make sure the duct tape stuck to the zipper, and I used some glue inside to help the vinyl to stick to the zipper on the inside, but I didn't stitch the zipper. It's originally adhered by the tape alone.
This is my favo part. I made sure and left some room at the head of the zipper, to make a small opening to be able to pop up a few things I pick up on my adventures. I'm a magpie by nature, and can't help but pick up the odd knickknack (lot's of folks call it junk) on my travels.
And I used all but one of my duct tapes in this construction. Some of them are not visible. I used the green tape to reinforce the belt and the blue one to reinforce the tool kit. I chose the bright silver duct tape for the kit because I wanted to be able to find it in a flash...beside it makes me feel like a super hero some how
