Last Tuesday was my boyfriend's birthday, which means that I can finally share the birthday present I made for him. A hand-embroidered heart on a thrifted shirt, using stem stitch and running stitch. So as not to overdo the sappiness, of course it's an anatomical heart.

Wow - that looks so awesome! And your stitching is so neat! (I, as a messy stitcher, am always impressed by this  Wink ) Did you make the pattern yourself? I want to stitch up a heart now too!  Grin

This is so awesome! I showed it to my husband and room mate and they think it is pretty cool too. I would love to receive something like this for my b-day.

Thanks so much for all your comments! My boyfriend totally loved his present, which made my day. His friends were all very impressed as well, and I think it's been a big step to them accepting me into their group, since my man and I have only been dating for a couple of months. Hooray for showing affection through handmade!

I did make the pattern myself, and I'm working on making a tidy version of it to offer as a free pattern, so I'll be sure to come back here and update my post as soon as that's ready.
