Queen of hearts costume

Hey.

I hope I have put this the right place, or else, please notify me.

I have just started studying dramathurgy on the university in Denmark, and we are going on a fieldtrip - we have to live in a cottage in a weekend, and our theme for the weekend is fairytales.

I love Alice in wonderland, and even though I had a WERY low budget - I actually got a pretty good result.
I had everything - besides a rose.

on to the pictures I have for now.







It is two dresses, one underneath, it is plain white with heart shaped card attached to it, then there is the top one with a collar.

I also made a crown made out of playing cards, a heart scepter and a white rose - painted almost red.

I promise there will be better pictures after Saturday were my sister-in-law is coming with her camera (yay)

First, yay dramathurgy! As a designer, I love dramaturgs. lol

Anywho, I really like the overdress, the way it's patched together. My only thoughts are would you have time to paint playing cards &/or hearts on the underdress? I like the idea of cards, but I think you could make it even cooler if you painted on it.

And do you have any padding in the sleeves poufs? I'm no expert on sleeve poufs, but I think they need a little more fullness to the outside.

Other than that, I think it's really cool!

Is the pouf just one layer or do you have a fitted sleeve underneath it? I've never actually stuffed a sleeve pouf, to be honest, but I would assume tacking in some stuffing. I was taught to do a pouf sleeve with the 2 layers, so I would think a bit of stuffing between the two layers would work. Maybe someone else could fill you in better, but that would be my thought.

Stuffing is always worth a shot! I'm glad the painting turned out well!
