Only dead fish go with the flow ....

This is a gift for my nephew.  It is based on a character in one of my nephews books.  Hes two years old, so I added star fish and sea anemones to make it more interesting for him.

It is entirely made with split stitch.

The silver scales are metallic thread, which was horrible to work with, and kept snagging.  It was worth it though, because in sunlight it really sparkles!

The book is der Regenbogenfisch (the rainbow fish) by Marcus Pfister.

Thanks Antidigger.  If anybody has any tips for working with metallic threads, I'd love to hear them....

this is beautiful! you did a great job, especially with the metallic thread! i, too, get super frustrated with the tangling... i think that using shorter lengths of metallic floss helps to cut down on the tangle factor.

Wonderful work!

The Rainbow Fish was one of my favorite books when I was little :]
