I haven't woven in any of the inner tails yet, that's the next step.

The way I make mine, I just crochet over the starting tail, so there's no weaving in, which we all know is the worst part, haha.

I have over 70 finished. I've been working on other projects now. I've taken up cross stitch again.

I've had some squares where the starting tail was only crocheted over, and they pulled apart when I was crocheting them together. Sad. That's why I always weave my GD ends in, and I asked my partner (in my questionnaire) to do the same.

I weave my starting tails in so well that I can't undo a GD once I'm finished. I tried once and it was too secure! Wink As much as I dislike the task of weaving in ends, I get a bit obsessive about making sure they're really good and woven in Wink

And, I find that when I use Simply Soft, I tend to crochet more tightly, so when I'm making GDs with it, I have to make sure that I don't put too much tension on the yarn.

And, I'm getting a bit worried that I haven't located my hook GD hook yet... After I get my work done for work tomorrow (I need to make 2 make-up quizzes and 2 practice worksheets, 2 will be hand written, 2 will be computer made), I'll do some serious digging. I thought I knew where it was, but I was wrong Sad

Weird. I've never had that problem and I've always thought it was more secure that way than when weaved in. On instances where I've had a tail come loose, it's always been woven in, not crocheted over. Also, with the GD, they're so small that there isn't exactly much room to weave in.

I hate going back to weave in the starting tail, so I started looping it around the first ch4 twice (I do the looping after I make the joining sl but before I start the ch3 that counts as the first dc) and then crocheting over those 2 loops and the remaining tail as I work around.  It ends up that a 6" stating tail gets crocheted over 3 times.  And I don't have to go back and weave in.  Cause I hate that.

That's an interesting way to do it! It reminds me of that old tire commercial: 7 wrapped by 2 wrapped by 1 Smiley I start with a magic ring, so it wouldn't work for me, but it might work for some other projects. Definitely tucking that into a corner of my brain for future reference!

I haven't found my hook, yet! It's on my list of items to find this weekend, however.

I've been swamped, and just realized that sign-ups close today (technically, they closed about 2 1/2 hours ago, but until I "officially" close them, any last folks can still jump in Smiley ).

I have to go and donate blood, and then I'll be back to tackle partners! Yay!

Partners are posted and information is sent! Please let me know if the information that you received is not for the partner I have listed in the the 2nd post of the thread.

Because we only had 13 people signed up, and only 1 partner per person, I opted to just organize  for this round because it made everything work out so neatly (and because life is crazier than I expected right now... and I still haven't found my hook Wink ).

So, when you send...
Please send me a PM (and your partner, too!)

And, when you receive...
Please send me a PM (and your partner, too!) AND please promptly post a picture in the gallery.

I'll set up the gallery when I have the first sender!
Yay!
