Cutest Critters EVER!

First I made this beautiful mermaid, (I call her Merry) for my partner. I went crazy with the hair, sewing in shells and beads to simulate water droplets


She has a removable tail, because I wanted to stay true to the pattern, so she needed to have legs.


After I finished, and was busy admiring Merry, I remembered that my partner said she doesn't like "cutesy", and I was afraid Merry might fall into that category!  So it was back to the sewing table.  I decided to make this uber-awesome turtle for my partner, who has a turtle in her avatar.  Here's Ollie's front:


And here's Ollie's back.  I was really "in the zone" when I was crafting this, and the shell magically came together without a hitch!  Again, I wanted to stay true to the pattern, so I made Ollie with ears, but I didn't stuff them, and sewed them down flat against the back of his head:


Ollie has a little (polymer clay) snail friend on top of his head!


I wanted to make some basic critters that would be suitable for children (no buttons, strings, or anything hard or sharp and nothing that could pull off), and this is how they look.  The face and eyes are all wool felt, and the flower is cotton fabric.


I made this one to match the baby quilt my friend asked me to make for her granddaughter.  The heart is wool felt, as are the face and eyes:

Leslieshappyheart, your cute mysterey critters are to cute to say the least. The mermaid is a darling, Ollie is very nice & I love his back. The other basic critters are so cute. I just might use one for my Great Grandbaby.   They are darling! Thanks for showing!!!!!
