After some soul-searching and math classes I decided to follow my love of fibers. I've decided to perhaps get into textile design and other fiber related employment following my education. This semester I'm taking Independent Fibers as it allows me to work and go to school. I truly love a good twill and my favorite colors can be somewhat bright, so I'm trying to combine the two in such a way that it doesn't hurt the eyes. It was intended to be a wrap, but I neglected to account for my chest, so it doesn't fit the way I envisioned. Lesson learned, I promise you.

So this is the first product of my second semester in fiber. While looking for books on Spinning I found the most amazing pattern book for a 4-Harness Loom. The Handweaver's Pattern Dictionary by Anne Dixon is absolutely fabulous.

So this is all done with cotton yarn, on my Structo table loom (20 inch weaving width, 20 dent reed). While my measurements were off, I still am in love with the weave, it was my first attempt at a deviation from the standard 4,3,2,1 warping I learned first. I certainly made a few mistakes, but I was able to fix them before weaving. I did all the weaving over the last four days. I found David Bowie's Life On Mars, had it on replay and wove for hours. It was magical.
