Craft Challenge #3 - Diorama/Shrine Extravaganza - Due June 28 to July 1 (2005)
Remember making dioramas in grade school? Well now's your chance to do it again! But this time it doesn't have to be about dinosaurs or the American Revolution or the four food groups... It can be whatever about you want! The more unexpected the better!
For those who perhaps missed out on the joys of dioramas in school and aren't quite sure what they are... Here's dictionary.com's definition: A three-dimensional miniature or life-size scene in which figures, stuffed wildlife, or other objects are arranged in a naturalistic setting against a painted background.
So in a museum, for example, when you see the life size caveman mannequin swinging his bat at a saber-toothed tiger -- that's an example of diorama.
But when I was in school we usually tilted an open shoe box on it's side and built the diaroma in that using miniature figurines, cut-out paper objects, etc. See this link here for an example:http://www.michtoy.com/MTSCnewSite/reference_folder/school_project_folder/school_project.html
You don't have to build it in a shoe box if you don't want to. But you have to build it in or on something so that it could be picked up and moved. (And survive the bumpy ride in the back of a school bus if need be!)
And if you have a theme, per se, please keep it light and fun! As we know from past experience on Craftster, political or controversial themes tend to turn into not-so-fun arguments!Official Rules:
- Post your craft during the period of June 28 to July 1. No sooner. No later. Instructions for exactly how to post your entry will be available on June 28.
- Voting will happen from July 2 to July 6
- Each participant can enter one project only
It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original and has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past. But if your project was definitely inspired
by something you've seen before, then just give credit to that project.Prizes:
At the end, I'll set up a poll right here in the thread and whoever people vote as the winner gets:

(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and this prize:
