I like giving things away sometimes.

I made these little charms out of various types and colors of leather and I'm going to hide them throughout the city of Ottawa.

Inside each one I placed a little piece of paper with a fortune on one side and my website on the other.

I like this cause I can only imagine the little adventures my creations are going to go on, who's going to find them..
I'll be storing them in tiny clear bags to protect them from the elements, and use ribbon or something to tie the bags to fence posts, tree branches, whatever else. Some Im going to hide a little more and others will be pretty plainly out in the open.

I really hope whoever finds them likes them!

Thanks for looking, C&C welcome.

What a creative idea! I wonder what would happen if you advertised it a little so people would be looking for them?
I might try this...mind if I copy you?

Not at all! I would love to see what you end up doing as well. Smiley

As for marketing it, I think I'll do that the next time I do this (since I'm sure there will be a next time..) expecially since I've found better places to hide them where they're more likely to be found by the right person.

Theres a tutorial of someone making fortune cookie tree ornaments with pictures that probably explains it better than myself, but I take a circle of leather, fold it in half (good sides together) and sew a straight stitch, then fold the sides over/rightside out. You cant open it, but if you have a small piece of paper you can stick it in the side fairly pain free.

http://24-7-365.blogspot.com/2009/12/fortune-cookie-ornament-tutorial.html theres the tutorial. Thats essentially what I did.
