Swaps are easy peasy.  When sign ups are posted.  Fill out the questionnaire. Pm it to the organizer. When sign up close the awesome org pairs very one up. Then you get your partners questionairre. Usually ( if I'm your partner) there will be pm's back and forth and questions and answers and then you decide what to make, that you think your partner would like, make it.  Mail it. Wait a while. Get your package in return. Pst pics in the gallery so we can all ooooh and aaaahh over the awesome goodies you made and received. Repeat for all the other cool swaps you want to do.  Smiley

Thanks! I understand that part, it's the 'points' that confuse me. I'm afraid my misunderstanding of the points system might result in a disappointed swap partner...

I understand that part, it's the 'points' that confuse me. I'm afraid my misunderstanding of the points system might result in a disappointed swap partner...

Basically the point system is set up so that a 'Large' is 3 points, a 'Medium' is 2 points, and a 'Small' is 1 point. Here are the size guidelines from the Swap FAQ:

By Time
-Large = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours

By Size
-Large = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
-Large = $30 or more
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

So for a four point swap you could chose to make four smalls, two mediums, a medium and two smalls, or a large and a small to fit the requirements. Not everyone uses the point system, but I like it because it means you can choose how much of what size of a craft you want to make. If you make something and you aren't sure it's the right amount of points, I would reccomend consulting the org (in this case it would be me). I would be able to determine if it's enough points. And if you still feel you've under crafted, there are always extras!

Oh my gosh, this would be such an amazing swap! Not sure if I have the time for it, though... There are two others I'm looking at on top of holiday crafting. Tongue I'll have to think about it. Undecided

Yeah, I totally forgot what a chaotic crafting time this is for a lot of people. I know I'm getting pretty ahead of myself by saying this, but I'd be up to organizing a second round over summer when the people who can't do it now might be more free.

I reckon I might be able to squeeze it in. I'd need to re-read it first too though...

Ooooh! Tempted, if only because the book mentions my home town, which both the angel & demon claim credit for - which if you have ever been to Milton Keynes totally makes sense!  Cheesy

A footnote from the book:
Note for Americans and other aliens:  Milton Keynes is a new city approximately halfway between London and Birmingham.  It was built to be modern, efficient, healthy, and, all in all, a pleasant place to live.  Many Britons find this amusing.

Needless to say, I have since moved!  Wink

Oooh, man.....I am so stalking this, and anxiously awaiting round two. This is the year I'm going to attempt to make most of my christmas stuff, and I already have another swap I'm joining later.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to do a Good Omens OTT for this round, and then over the summer do a bigger swap? That way people who have a lot to craft this season don't have to commit to a lot of points.
