I simply had to jump on the melted crayon wagon after seeing all the fun pieces people have come up with! I used an 8x10" wooden canvas that I painted black first, and then held the crayons while melting them down the front. I rather adore it Smiley

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, it's all I have for the moment Smiley

I really love the texture in yours! I've seen others but this may be my favorite! What did you use to melt the crayons?

This is the first melted crayon artwork that I've seen and I love it.  I think that I want to make something like this for my daughter's room.

Thanks everyone!

TwilightFirefly, I used a heat gun to melt the crayons, I just held them right above the canvas and worked slowly, in several layers to get all the texture to build up. My heat gun pushes the hot air out gently (unlike a blow dryer for example) so it was pretty easy to control the amount and direction of the drips.

Thanks, GeekLove! I used a heat gun to melt the crayons, and I held them about the canvas while they dripped down. I burned my fingers a few times when I wasn't careful, but overall it worked well!

I thought about holding the crayons when I did mine, but I decided not too.  I might just have to make
another one and try it.  It came out really great.... I love the texture.
