Haroldlovesmaude asked me to post a photo of the OTT I sent to her.


I sent her Halloween Treats stitch markers.  Clockwise from top:  wrapped mini chocolate (based on Hershey's bars), popcorn ball (I used to receive these as a kid from my neighbor), candy corn, black gumdrop with sugar crystals and wrapped taffy.

sorry for the delay in posting pictures...we haven't had power here since Saturday night.

But I'm charging up my camera tonight and will post pics tomorrow. 

irid3sc3nt those stitch markers are super cute.  Dawnstrees sent me some stitch markers too!  they seem like an ideal item for OTT and it seems like you can never have too many (at least for me).

Love those tasty-looking stitch markers! I had a neighbor who gave out popcorn balls on Halloween too when I was little  Fun memory!

Thank you for posting pictures! They are great little stitch markers.. and will probably work a lot better than the random small round objects I tend to use... Paperclips, earrings, key chains....

Okay, sorry I am a little late on posting! As I mentioned a week ago, I left to California for the ultimate Halloween adventure- I returned Halloween day to find the most ridiculously awesome item from hopeevey in my mailbox. However, I was so exhausted from my trip it took me two full days to recover and function like a human again!

Anyways, I had asked hope as my number one request, to make something that would serve as a reminder of my trip. I went to Disneyland (specifically to see the Haunted Mansion Holiday with the Nightmare Before Christmas takeover) and I also got to see my hero, Tim Burton's art exhibit. I wanted a skeleton with Mickey Ears or something along those lines. And boy, did she deliver! Not only is this the perfect combination of everything I wanted and the best representation of my trip, she took the "tiny" part to a whole new level!! Hope, how on Earth did you do this? It blew my mind! I don't know how something can be crocheted that tiny? Or is it crocheted?? I dunno...I just know it is awesome and will forever be cherished and serve as a reminder to my life-changing trip!

I tried to get a different tasting candy in there - chocolate, gummy, salty/sweet. 

justaddcats - I remember thinking it was a silly thing to give out on Halloween, but now I appreciate it.  I'm not sure if people give out stuff like that anymore or if it's all store-bought.  I know my sister said when they have Treat Day at her kids' school, they can only bring in pre-packaged items-- nothing made at home.

hopeevey - Amazing job on the tiny Disney skull. Is it crocheted?  If so, what size hook did you use?  I have the super tiny hooks down to 0, but I've been too intimidated to use them.

It is, indeed, crocheted, with a size 5 hook.  The skull is a pattern I bought on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/skull-y-amigurumi) I made up the Mickey ears

Okay, my partner has received but is unable to upload photos at the moment.  I took these with my cell phone, but I've cleaned them up as best I can with Picnik.

I made her a tiny polymer clay sugar skull.  I think it wound up being about 2 inches long and maybe an inch and a half wide.

Those black things at the temples are roses, which get really fiddly at that size.  They didn't photograph too well, unfortunately.  I decided to go with outlines for the flowers on the cheekbones and the sides.

I had a good time making it, and I'm glad she seemed to like it.

I have to say, all the crafts I've seen here are awesome! I would have been thrilled to get any of them.  You guys are all so skilled!

Sorry I am so late posting pics of what I received from cassiem!!!! On my list I had that I liked fall colors, and that I liked artifact type things, and she combined the two into the COOLEST artifact ever!!! It even came with it's own back story!

Oct. 2nd                    Bolivia
Never seen anything quite like this before. Natives call it 'the creeping demon'-apparently it only appears on a day they've associated with their version of Satan. Our camp was well surrounded with the little... plants? Animals? Unclear what, exactly, it is. Have decided to name whatever it is after... one of the 'seed pods' just moved. Must investigate. This is more suspicious all the time.
Oct. 3rd                     Bolivia
Can't believe I doubted the wonderful nature of these darling plants! One sits at my side while I write, and it has the most charming voice! Must send a specimen to Emily; she'd find it excellently satisfying, as I have.
