I GOT A KITTY TOO!

meowari sent me this a-mazing little guy! How did she manage to get so much detail, expression, and texture into OTT? I have no idea, but I'm betting on magic.

I'm calling him Sparkle Kitty at the moment-- as I seem to be extraordinarily uncreative with names lately, I'm open to suggestions.  Here he is on my inspiration board behind my desk where I can look at him whenever I should be on the computer doing schoolwork Smiley

And here's a better view of the detail. Do you SEE those leaves? And the bow-tie? LOVE.

Thank you SO much, meowari! You're a terrific swap partner! And many thanks to irid3s3nt for organizing such a fun swap!

PaperSnipper - How did you paint the background of that card?  It looks like batik fabric!

justaddcats- I like the inclusion of the fangs and the single whiskers.  It makes the kitty look like it has a debonair mustache.

meowari - Great painting!  I like the curlycues in the frame as well.

I have received my package from Mellifluous.  I love it.  A very cute zombie brain box.  The zombie is needle point and yes the brain is very sticky and gooey.  lol

My partner GiddyUpMunky asked me to post pictures of what I sent her. Here he is:

Zero!  From Nightmare Before Christmas

I finally watched the movie yesterday afternoon.  Love Zero and the intro song.

irid3sc3nt sent me this AMAZING needlebook!

There is so much detail on this thing!  Look at the eye veins! The brain is incredible with all the squiggly stitches.  And all those beads!

Thank you so much, irid3sc3nt!

PaperSnipper - How did you paint the background of that card?  It looks like batik fabric!

It was pretty simple- I just dabbed the colors that I wanted on straight out of the tubes and then used a relatively stiff horse hair brush to blot the paint around. This way the colors didn't blend too much and it gave it a texture. The moon and the witch are actually cut out of paper which was then painted black and adhered to the painted background.

And regarding the cutting detail, I have a really sweet set of exacto knives  Grin

I was really nervous about sending after seeing so many wonderful things, so it's nice to get so many compliments, and I'm really glad that cassiem liked it!!

I also received mine, and WOWZERS! It's exactly what I wanted!!! Have to bum hubby's computer to upload pics, hopefully will get to do so later tonight!

aluraceleste- super cute hair band!  Is it one of those stretchy ones the fit around your whole head or is it more like a head band?

Mellifluous- Your brain box makes me think it's something a zombie keeps in its coat pocket, just in case of emergency.  Like an emergency ration of chocolate.

gerbilgal- Cute Zero!  I remember when I first saw NBC, I was entranced by it and watched it over and over.  I think I was about ten at the time.  It was out on video, but I don't remember seeing any previews for it in the theater.

hazelly- So glad that you like it!  The original sketch was for a zombie prom date with a crown pulling her hair off her scalp, but I miscalculated the size of the felt pieces, so I had to improvise at the end.  It's more of an "everyday" zombie now.

I received the coolest package from Plucky yesterday but I didn't have access to a camera today.

Take a gander at these decorative Halloween clips:

Group shot

As you can see, I got a bit artistic there with the mummy in the background. lol

And here's a close up. The detail and designs on these are amazing:

I love these a bunch. The magnets are on my file cabinet at work and the others are holding by bags of Halloween candy.

Thanks so much Plucky! You're a great swapper.
