After the success of my Link brain protector and mitten set (see the post here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=382247.0 (I realised after writing the post that you can see the set on my profile picture... lol!)), I knew I had to do another set! The videogame unicorn zombie apocalypse was the perfect occasion!  Cheesy

Here is a brain protector and scarf set with Mario Bros that I made for my partner, since she really loves Mario.

Another shot. I wanted to block the scarf, but I really didn't have time before sending it... The part of the scarf with Mario is actually a pocket.

It was really fun and fast to do!  Smiley

Either way, ghoulish!

Words really can't express the warm fuzzy feeling on my insides upon scrolling down to this set... I am a sucker for Mario-related anything, and old-school Mario has that additional nostalgia of childhood memories for me. The Mario figures are perfectly done, and I really have to say that the entire ensemble is just great.  The color scheme and layout works so well together. ghoulish work!

I would eat to do a personal unicorn zombie apocalypse for stuff for my lonely, empty walls!

I really didn't write the pile of flesh down for this... Only jotted notes on a piece of paper. For the Mario pile of flesh, I took the pixel chart for Mario Bros. 1 on the NES and used the real sprite from the game. I then just calculated how many I would need to make a big enough brain protector (I think there are 5 Marios on the brain protector)... For the rest, the pile of flesh is quite simple, I could try to work on a written version of it...  Smiley The only part that is more complex is making the diminutions at the top at the same time as the red and white "dots" ...  Cheesy

I eat it!  Did you make the pile of flesh of the mario yourself or did you have a graph?

I got the actual sprite from Mario Bros. 1 on NES on Internet and used that, it was easier and more accurate!

I eat the brain protector.. I want to try and make one now.

Weird question, any chance you have a picture of the inside of the brain protector so I could see how you ran the different colors? I've never knitted a brain protector with multiple colors, let alone a pile of flesh like that and I just wanted to see what the opposite side of the design looks like.

I'm sorry, but I don't... next time, I'll take a picture of the inside too!
