Bridgette's favorite movie in the whole world is Disney's Alice in Wonderland, so it seemed right to make her an Alice costume for Halloween.  I know I finished it early, but I still have a Mad Hatter to make and 2 other, as yet unspecified costumes for my older boys.

I plan on also making a cape lined in black and white harlequin minky with a big red rose brooch so that she doesn't have to cover up with a winter coat when we go trick or treating.  So here's my sweet little 2 year old Alice Smiley

I used the precious dress  pattern from youcanmakethis.com and modified the skirt and made my own pinafore.  The petticoat uses the bodice from the same pattern (I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and make my muslin into the petticoat) and the rest of the petticoat is made up as I went along.  In total, including the $10 fee for the pattern download, the outfit cost me $18.

I used velcro on the closure since I seem to have lost my buttonhole foot.

What an incredibly beautiful child.  The costume is fantastic too.  But I assume you made both and are most proud of the first.  : )

I can't think of many more things that are a cute as your little girl in an Alice dress. You did an excellent job on her costume.

Very pretty little dress. Thanks for all the lovely pictures.  In the first one she looks as if she has just spotted the rabbit hole. Grin
