This is fantastic!  I've been admiring a knitted fox scarf for a while, but haven't got round to casting on.  Maybe I'll make something like this instead.  Foxes are lovely & this is a great fox friendly craft!  Wink

I love this pattern!  Consider using Polar Fleece: it's made from recycled plastic bottles, so it's eco-friendly, and it comes in so many colors and patterns, and it's so heavenly soft and warm, and it's very wide, so one could make a really long scarf.

I am thinking about knitting one, since I do that. Smiley

I remember my grandma's fox scarf--or were the little beasts minks?  Anyway, there were several, fastened together, and the mouth of the one on the end had a spring mechanism to fasten it to the tail on the other end. Grin

I still have my mom's mink stole.  I just don't know what to do with it.  Undecided

thank you all so much! i got those eyes from etsy and I have already made one fox with them, but forgot to take pictures of the process. i shall do that next time:) i think the one with the eyes is really really cute too, might be even cuter:) also, I would love to see pictures when you try to make them:)

when i was a kid someone gave my mother and/or me one of those "real live dead fox" scarves and it fascinated me, too.  i love yours.  i think he looks a little too dead without the eyes... but then the "real" ones had glass eyes.  i donno, it's a tough call, that. 

i also think this would look super in that really plush new kind of fleece, the kind that is softer and sort of "hairier" than the old kinds, although i bet it's a pain to sew, because of all the hairiness.  don't know what it's called, i only know that LandsEnd calls it "heavenly fleece" cos i bought a jacket out of it... and a matching scarf... which now i am tempted to turn into a dark purple "unreal almostlive undead fox scarf" !
