Large?!?  I could've sworn we're supposed to be working on mediums and smalls Wink
Well, I'm glad that isn't a strict rule. My first item probably took about 25 hours and isn't quite done yet. Is that a small?  Grin

Nay, that's definitely a small and a half Wink

Medium, smeedium.  Cheesy  I only meant "large" in a figurative sense . . . whatever that means.  Cheesy

Cold, windy and threatening snow here!

me neither, but I doubt there is anything we can do to stop it.  Smiley

Picked up some goodies this morning on the way in.  Did I tell you guys that I pass my fav craft store on the drive into work every day?  Talk about tempting!!  Anyhow I'm happy because it means I can craft more tonight.

The thing I was hoping to get tomorrow doesn't seem to be at the store (checked online), but I'll double check tomorrow.  I hope it is so that I have something to work on this weekend.

Finished one item, working on a second.  Just wrapping up an hour with the dry press, then it is off to play with the sewing machine.

Stopped by the thrift store this morning and picked up a big bag of tree lights. Managed to untangle it into 4.5 working strands, plus a strand to scavenge for bulbs. I guess I should wait until after Halloween to put anything up though....

I have to also say that I am now appalled, after looking online to see how much tree stands cost. The tree stands weren't appalling (well, maybe the $80 "tree system"), but my simple search on Target brought up:

1. an artificial half tree. Like a tree cut vertically in half so that you place it directly against the wall. We had a half-table like this at the community theater that was actually pretty handy, but this just seems....wrong. Especially in the photo that does not have a wall.

2. a Charlie Brown tree, a fake tree in the exact shape as the sad tree in the Peanuts Christmas Special. Although I confess to a slight impulse to buy this tree and send it to my grandfather, who loves the Christmas Special and once sent every person in the entire family a fiber optic fake mini tree.

3. a wide variety of fake trees with branches in the color of college sports teams. There are some really awful color combinations.

In contrast to these, the pre-lighted holiday palm trees made of tinsel seem almost ok....

Now I am really going to get off of the laptop and sew....

A half tree...clever.  Smiley  We always end up putting the ugly ornaments on the back of our tree anyhow.  LOL.
