My partner received over a week ago, so Bakeneko suggested that I post pictures of what I sent.

I went with her science theme and love of plaid.  It was made entirely of materials that I had on hand.  I don't sew much, at least not on a machine, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I was a bit too chicken to try binding, but I think it's fine without it.

One side.

Close up of the embroidery.

The other side.  I loved making this, because I'm a fan of dinosaurs, too, and had actually been planning on making a dino mug rug for myself.  I quilted this side with some prehistoric plant-like shapes, but you can't really see it in the picture.

Here is the gorgeous butterfly mug rug that I received from Southern Flower. She nailed me perfectly, I love butterflies and bright, cheerful colors.
Here's the back:

I never thought to make a label on the one I sent, next time for sure!

Here's the front. Isn't it pretty! I love the fabrics and the scrappy square and the butterflies that she cut out so carefully:

She even sent me a tea wallet filled with flavors of tea I've never seen anywhere. I can't wait to try them. What a fun swap this was!

So many unique mug rugs!  I love looking at all the different ideas people have for them - so awesome.

I've been a bit slow updating photos (sorry!) but I've received my lovely mug rug from Sinella!

I LOVE the colours and fabrics, and the heart rectangle is a delightful pocket.  I feel like I need to make small cookies that will fit in the pocket. Smiley  Thank you so much, Sinella!  I'm hoping to have a collection of mug rugs, and this is a wonderful first one!

Also, apparently this is the first thing Sinella has ever quilted!  Impressive, hey?  She said she was worried about the binding, but I think it looks awesome.  I would never have guessed this was her first one, that's for sure.

A-ok with personal swaps.

Attempting my first quilt.  English paper piecing.  Sewing together 900 hexagons.
