So, it’s easy peasy. My husband taught me some techniques for soldering, but there are some simple instructions to make similar fun things, and absurdly cutey-pooty things on the site that I got the idea for using the microscope slides at… (a scrapbooking place,
http://scrapalatte.net/) and that’s where I get the solder, copper tape, and flux. (so I can be sure it’s safe, not leaking toxic-lead-gunk into my neck.) I get my slides at microscope depot… it’s much cheaper. But if you wanna read it here - This is how I do it…
a) Choose stamp, score and break the microscope slides(with a glass cutter), mount the stamp to a nice piece of paper,
(or not. If you do it can be double sided. and as martha would say "that's a good thing.")
b) Make a glass-stamp-glass sandwich, holding it closed with a springy clamp thing.
Size counts, make an effort to use pieces of glass that really match well…

Wrap the edges in copper tape, rubbing it aggressively down to make some really good contact with the glass.
c) One edge at a time: paint with flux, and solder. It’s hot. Don’t burn yourself.
it should be resting on a heatproof surface (perhaps a piece of glass.)
I like to have the clamp on the bottom holding it steady. eddie.
d) Make a nice extra blob of solder, where the jump ring can be attached. Flux the ring and the blob.
Holding the ring (with pliers) heat the blob until just molten, and then jam that ring in.
Hold for a few seconds, and then admire.
e) ooh
This is my first attempt at posting a tutorial... it's time for bed now.
