...to claim his prize! He literally made the "DOO DOO DOO DOOOOOO!" sound when he saw it! That was more satisfying than anything else Smiley
LOL I know that sound!  Link is really cute, and I also like that in the one picture your man is posed like Link when he finds something (holds it over his head).  Well done!  And now I have a Christmas gift idea for DH; I can't even begin to count the number of hours we've played Zelda.  Thanks!

ETA:  which method did you use to join the squares?

This is fantastic! I never played Zelda, but I can appreciate how much work went into this after having made a tetris lapghan for a friend's engagement. If you don't mind, would you share the pattern for your squares? They look so pretty! Smiley

Oh I understand your plight all too well! While I have been taking time off here and there I've been working on a blanket with the same pattern for months! Thankfully the portion with link doesn't feel so long because you get to watch it develop. I'm making this for my boyfriend...and now I need to get a treasure chest!! Where did you find yours?

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I really appreciate it! Smiley
Eamea, I just got a yarn needle and whipstitched them together. It took a while, but not as long as making the squares!
Tshanafelt, as soon as I find the pattern I'll post it up, promise.
raeraethejetplane, I found my treasure chest at Hobby Lobby. Be careful though, because my treasure chest was JUST big enough for the rug; that bad boy turned out to be a lot bigger than I anticipated!

I did a web search on line for treasure chests and they all look to small. If I have the time I am going to make it out of two cardboard boxes.

This is fabulous! Cheesy
I'm a huge Zelda nerd, so I have to ask, where did you get such an awesome husband?! Tongue
Also, what pattern did you use for the squares?

This is so well done.  Kudos for tackling a giant Link!  I have ideas for an 8 bit Bowser in the works!

This is probably the closest pattern to what I did, although I used a smaller hook than she did. She also has a youtube link if you want visuals! Smiley
