Would anyone be interested in doing a poncho swap? I was thinking this is a great time since it isn't quite cold yet and it isn't quite "the holiday season" so craft stores have more stuff in stock and aren't as busy. Plus if you're sewing, they don't take too long to make.

I was really thinking about a fleece geeky/nerdy themed poncho swap, but I would be willing to leave that requirement out if it will attract more swappers.

You can sew, knit or crochet and I will match partners up as best as I can based on what they want. Materials and style can also be your choice. Upcycling is cool too. Whatever floats your boat!

Anyone in on this? I'm thinking sign-ups starting October 1, closing Oct 15 and send by Nov 17? I don't know how long it takes to knit or crochet one so let me know if more crafting time is needed.

I'm not a huge fan of poncho's, but I do love light scarves/shawls! Maybe you could open it up as an outdoor autumn things swap? That's just me though Smiley

Isn't a shawl kind of the same thing?

A shawl is like a big scarf that can be wrapped around yourself (or tied at the back like a shrug, or draped, or anything else you'd like). Ponchos are like sweaters where the sleeves and the body are the same thing. There's not a huge difference, but I had childhood trama with ponchos Tongue

Haha well, I was hoping to get people into loving ponchos. I don't have one myself, nor have I, but I thought it would make for a neat swap.
