Here's one I made a while back... for the Hoopla Swap Round 3.  It's a 4" hoop and it was winter then, thus the subject matter.  Hard to believe we're coming 'round to it again. Shocked

Beautiful stitches!!  S.N.O.W. is a four-letter word to me, but this piece is very lovely!

That is gorgeous - I love snow and snowflakes - will be pinning this when I get home.  What method did you use for colouring the cloth, or is that the fabric you got?  Looks like salt dying.

S.N.O.W. is a four-letter word to me...!

Yes, well it was rather to me, too!  At the time I was making it we had way too much snow on the ground, even for New Hampshire, and I had water coming through the kitchen ceiling in various places as a result of ice dams on the roof.  My swap partner lived in the Southwest, though, and I think my plan was along the lines of "misery loves company".  Cheesy

Thanks for the compliments, guys!  It was fun to make, especially since it was small and stitched up so quickly.  The background fabric came as is from Joanne's.  The tiny tan speckles are actually glitter-y bits and the beads are crystal-ly, which I thought made it look like when you're watching snow fall and there's just a bit of light on it, like from a streetlight somewhere behind you.  It's hard to capture the shine in a photograph, though.

It's gorgeous, I'd love to have something like that. I'm attracted to anything pretty and sparkly!

That's really nice, I like it! I really like the bead detailing combined with the glitter-y background, makes me feel chilly (in a good way, lol). Smiley

Personally, I love snow, I'm a Minne-snow-tan born & raised about to move to GA, I'm about to go through some serious snow withdrawal. Embarrassed I may need to take inspiration from you & make myself a hoopla snow storm for my new house. Cheesy

No, well not by my hands, at any rate  Cheesy  It was from Joanne's - I think I also got some in a dark blue and an aqua green.  The little specks that look tan in the photo are actually gold glitter specks.  It's very hard to take a picture of that, though.  I thought it made it look like when it's snowing at night and the light is glinting off the snowflakes in the background.

Thanks for the compliments, all!  I appreciate the feedback.  I might try this again this winter for myself - or maybe Christmas gifts...
