Almost four years ago I started an appliqued quilt square of the digestive system for an awareness quilt for Crohn's Disease.  I did it for my husband who had suffered with the disease for 21 years.  I started it in September, 2007 and then put it away, because it wasn't going exactly as I wanted it to.  On October 11, 2007 I brought it out again and finished it.  I showed it to Steve and we both laughed about it which was great, because I knew he liked it.
Six hours later, I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly to a coronary.  I know it sounds weird, but you can't imagine how therapeutic it was to have made that quilt block.

Ha!  That's great!  I have major issues with my digestive tract, so I'm drawn to stuff like this.

That's heartbreaking.  So glad you knew he liked it before.

OP:  LOVE the hoop!  As a nurse who begs to get the colon resection patients, this is right up my alley!
