This is really cool!  I like the colors you used, and even if they aren't scientifically accurate (they are probably all some shade of pink or gray or red anyway, I wouldn't know - I'm squeamish) they still look absolutely wonderful!  I hope to see more of your work!
And PenguinSoup - you should totally learn to embroider.  My main hobby is knitting but embroidery is 100 times easy, works up much faster, and is just as much fun!  (Also... WAY cheaper, and the consequences of hoarding embroidery floss are much lighter on your wallet and less maddening for your roommate than yarn.  LOL.)
