Fresh flowers are nice, but I feel no real emotional connection to them. My great-grandmothers jewelry and curtains from my fiance and I's first apartment though, those are special. So I figured hey, why not bring them to the wedding in bouquet form?

Along with some cruelty-free feathers from etsy and lots of hot glue I present to you my alternative bridal bouquet:

(ps- I plan to cover that plastic handle, I just haven't decided how to yet...)

That is stunning. I especially love the intimacy of using your grandma's jewelry.

It is gorgeous...and much more meaningful...you did a wonderful job of combining some lovely colors and textures...I nearly cried when I read that you had used something of your grandmother's...so personal...

What a fantastic idea for honoring the tradition of bouqet in a special way! I have an aversion to doing wedding things because "that is just what people do." If I ever get married now I know what to do for the bouquet.

Thank you for passing along your inspiration. Congratulations and have a beautiful wedding.

LunarPowered - I have that same aversion to traditional things if there's no real personal tie to it. We plan to throw out a lot of "you have to do this in every wedding" if we don't like them because well... it's our wedding (:

hawkeye - I thought this too!! Or with some changes years down the line maybe my future daughter would like to use it when she gets married.  Like an heirloom.
