Hi!
This is my first quilt, and I learned a lot from it!

I recently angelled for the "Decorate My Room" swap & my partner chose her bedroom to be done.
After much stalking, I settled on a theme, and started planning something that turned out to be bigger than I expected.

The quilt is based on the logos of the two opposing factors in Mass Effect: Renegade & Paragon. I used this image as part of my inspiration: http://joeyongames.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/350px-mass_effect_2_paragon_renegade_signs.jpg

Here is the final result:


I used navy, red & white cotton broadcloth for the quilt pieces, 18" x 18" each, bricklayed. I had charted out how to made the logos with quilt blocks, but I couldn't get it to work, so the logos are cut from a solid piece & appliqued on to the navy.
The entire thing is backed in a super-plush black blanket & bound with black satin blanket binding.
My machine couldn't handle quilting something so large, so my original idea of quilting stars & planets didn't pan out. I hand-quilted small X's in the corners of the squares (as if it were a tie-quilt)

Some would say this was a learning process, but I think the thing I learned from this is that quilting is not my strong suit. I still had a lot of fun though!

Looks super comfortable to use year round.
I think this turned out great. Simple and ME fan-tastic Wink
The planets and stars might have been too busy.
This is straight to the point.
