I recently discovered the awesomeness that is Finley and Oliver. I LOVE their stuff! (but sadly they just closed out their stuff!!!!)

I really wanted to update some blank shirts I had laying around for my kids and decided I had to try doing the cupcakes shirts!

I used some old tshirts for the bottom of the cupcakes and then beige flannel for the top. I hand stitched along both to give it the pop and look of the originals. After that I did a little freezer paper stenciling to give them faces and bows.

I also took a plain tanktop that I got on clearance and updated it for my daugther. (this pic isn't as great)
I simply took an old white T-shirt to use as the applique. I hand stitched over the top with white floss to give it a bit of texture.

These were very simple to make. I'm thinking of using the idea for baby gifts in the future.

Thank you! The hand stitching was really just decorative. I used heat and bond too. (I think I used lite cause its easier to get a needle through it)

Today on the finley and oliver blog she posted how to do the Love shirt! I just used a similar font to create mine but she gives the actual template!
