I've taken advantage of the last few hot days of summer by dyeing scarves and wool!  Just acid dyes and sun and something to dye.  Easy peasy!

And the wool:

It was great fun, and really easy, all things considered!

Love those scarves! Honestly, though, my favorite part has to be the chubby little baby hand. Oh geez, when it's all on the table together it just looks like one big pile of happy!

Have to wonder: what does "the last few days of hot" mean to a Canadian? The temp here dropped to 83 this week and I thought it was nice enough to leave the back door open all day.

Thanks!
The last few hot days of summer means 28-30'celcius, which in Fahrenheit is about 90-95.  I stuck the jars out front, where there is a micro climate just slightly above that, facing the south.  This was an unexpected heat wave where we are (nearly half way up the solid country -not including the islands above of course) Normal temps range in the 16'c-20'c, which if I had to guestimate, is about 68-73 ish?

Have you tried Lumi dye? I just heard of it and it's a solar process that allows you to put photos on fabric and I've been dying to see some real people using it.

I've never heard of that!  It sounds really interesting.  It would be great to put some photos or images on fabric.  Sounds like these ones that don't peel off, since they are dyes...
