i never thought of surging. that's a good idea! it doesn't need to be mini surger, right? i have a regular one. my mom almost didn't let me make it because she thought i wouldn't do all that hemming, but i could just surge it! i got my fabric yesterday, but haven't been able to start yet....teehee, having a pool that's finally warm enough to swim, i don't have much time for anything else!

of course not! i made one!!! i cant' post pics bc of lack of digi cam. Cry but i will soon, hopefully! but i wore it to church today! it's still a cool skirt, but i'm contemplating starting flamenco dancing. it seems really cool! but it's ok to have an awesome skirt even if you don't do the dance. it's really cool though. Wink everyone was amazed that i made it! thanks so much for posting the tutorial!!! i absolutely LOVE this skirt! Cheesy

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful.

Did you use the same technique for the black ruffles and for the polka dot ruffles?
It's a great idea.

oh, such plentiful comments and compliments! much obliged!

itsmesosa: thanks so much for converting the measurements, i was being too lazy to do it myself.

kapaali: cheers for the serger tip, i'll be sure to get hold of one if and when i'll want to make another skirt. all that hemming did nearly get the better of me!

elephantfanatic and jessie: i would love to see pictures of your finished skirts, so please post them if you can!

doll parts: same technique for both, yes.
