I made this painting for pinkleo in the Giant Multi-Theme swap! Hagrid is her favorite Gryffindor (I think a lot of us would say the same!) This painting is based on the description of Hagrid the first time we meet him in Sorcerer's Stone, Chapter 4, as well as Mary GrandPre's drawing on the first page of the chapter. I've always loved her illustrations!

The doorway and little wind puffs are meant to evoke how Hagrid busted in the door of the little cabin on the isolated island where the Dursleys took Harry! And a lifelong friendship was begun....Smiley

Real yarn beard, and painted Gryffindor scarf underneath!

Complete with pink umbrella (had to hunt all over town for a package of those! DANG!)

He was definitely a work of love (and sweat). I'm not a great painter! Thanks for looking Smiley

I love him! This makes me think of: "Yer a wizard, Harry". Great job!

That's exactly the part it's inspired by! Thanks Smiley
