Howdy evurybody!

Been a very busy few days : found out I'm going to be on a t.v. programme called Come Dine With Me (filming starts next week), so I have been running around like chicken with it's head cut off to try an organise myself!! I've also been trying to work on some new music with the band (three new songs....whoo!!!) and also trying to work on some new frocks - a buyer from a shop I went to the other day is interested in my dresses!! WHEW!!

But I still managed to find some time to work on my greatest achievement yet - sailor trousers. JAAAAAAM. I've always wanted to make them.

My best friend wanted a pair of these from Vivien Of Holloway for her birthday. But like me, she has a small waist and big hips...so trying to get ones that fit her properly was going to be mental. And I wasn't about to pick apart seams either.

So I met her in town, had a few drinks, and wandered to the fabric shop. She chose the fabric, buttons, and anchor motif...and said, 'Here, make them for me, please!!' so I did - with an altered vintage trouser pattern from the 1970's. Smiley

Wee pocket and anchor detail - she wanted a small one to keep her house key when she goes out to her party:

I'm actually quite glad that they are a bit different to the VOH ones - she pretty much put her own stamp on them, so these are essentially one of a kind bespoke trousers....made to fit her. (and me - we wear the same trouser size Tongue)

I would keep them and not say a word, but she'd probably come to my house and kick my ass. Tongue

-x-

UPDATE - My friend picked them up the other day and they fit her to a T!!! Home skillet was jumping around my living room all happy. Cheesy No, really - she was. Tongue
