My second finished Christmas gift:

This is a fairly simple pattern, all things considered. You make the crayons individually and then join them together.

I wanted to put a sc border on them first, and wanted the border stitches to match the colour of the stitches they were worked into.  So what I did was, leave super long tails on the black stripes and the coloured stripes between them, and then used them to make those stitches, and then again to whip-stitch the crayons together.

To pull this off, use the stitch pattern of your choice to make the crayons and start with an even number of rows of a colour, then an odd number of rows for most of the rest. I did an even number of rows after the last black stripe before doing the decreases for the tip.

I did:
Start with 20 stitches, alternating sc and dc

Colour - 8
Black - 3
Colour - 3
Black - 3
Colour - 67
Black - 3
Colour - 3
Black - 3
Colour - 8
Decrease until you finish with a row with four stitches in it.

I used Bernat Satin and exactly one ball of each colour, and just shy of one ball of black
