When I saw the thumbnail I thought these were sewn together (like a quilt), but knitted!?  This is beautiful - I so wish I could knit.  Luckily I am not the only one glad to see a crochet tutorial out there.  I gave my yarn stash to my mom last year, but am glad I held on to a few things for myself.  Can't wait to get started on this!

Now to decide to knit or crochet-wonder if I could do a mix of both...

My concern about a mix of knit & crochet in the same project would be that they would have a totally different amount of stretch in the finished puff, but since each piece is so small and attached to so many others, it would probably work just fine!  Let us know how it goes.

I thought about that as well. I think that it will all even out. The beauty of this project is that since all the puffs are crafted individually, they can be repaired/replaced individually as needed.

I love it! It seems like a ton of work, but it looks stunning!

I've been wanting to start this for a few weeks now.  Hopefully, since there's a Craftster knitalong, it'll encourage me to get started!

LOVE this!  And I have a lot of stash to bust! I, too, have some Christmas presents to finish first, but then I'm on it baby yeah! Thanks for telling us about it. Smiley

I just solidified my knitting skills a couple of days ago, and I was looking for a large project to start when I found this post.  I am super excited to get started, and the added motivation of others working on the same project is always a plus!

I saw this too on Ravelry and fell in love with it. I've started and have casted on with #10 this morning. I'm mixing a small amount of lavender into each puff.
