Ok "beth8144" thanks that helps.  Wink I've done something like that either took  apart an old piece of something & make a pattern out of that & make it bigger or smaller. Also I take parts from diferent things, might be a set of eyes, or a shirt, or hands that I like & I draw them untill I like it then make a copy of it & then enlarge or decrese it. I love to draw not real good, but getting better.
My mother use to take the old Flower sacks wash them ( they had flowers or some design on them & made dresses for my sister & later she would make me dreses out her dreses or parts of them. She was good at using what she had, that help me a lot.
I just want to say you sound like a lot of fun!!!! Grin Thanks again Sharalee

WOW that's fantastic shara! You mom was the Ultimate crafter!  Shocked I always stumble over sleeves on my poppet clothes. You may have noticed that my poppets usually have sleeveless robes and gowns. I just can't get my fingers to work with something that tiny. But after doing a personal swap with squire (which I yet have to finish -.-U *facepalm*) and seeing the good Captain Isabel's wonderful clothes, she constantly inspires me to just TRY new clothing designs at least. Thank god muslin is cheap right?  Cheesy

Oh My Thank you so much "IsikkahJai" she would of love to of heard that & be on craftster, she love to sew.  Roll Eyes She could make something out of a little piece of fabric it was amazing & now I kind of like to do that too. I lost her in 95" she was 84 yrs & had a pretty good life, I miss her a lot. Sad  Anyway before I start bubbering again.
I have problems with sleeves too, that's why my Rock Star Poppet girl I just made a vest, I tried 3 or4 times & gave up, & it turn out pretty good just being a vest. If you have any tricks about sleeves please tell me. Thanks again, Shara Cheesy

sleeves for poppet clothes are hard. they either go sleeveless or they are baggy so they can fit around the poppet hands. So excited I got the material for one of the poppets clothes today.  And while I looking for the info about the paper towel stuff I found a post from the mini poppet swap and Squire did I read right that your husband has a craftser account if so is he reading this thread if so should I be veague about what I say?

Oh yeah... Squire's Hubby DOES have an account on Craftster now that I think about it. He participated in the earlier WoW swap awhile back with her. ^^ So cute!!! *moe moment*
Aww....Beth and Squire! I feel so excited seeing what you have planned for this swap! Hee hee. It's good sometimes to have intimate swaps like this. I feel like it's our own personal bubble to become closer friends in, ya know?  Smiley

Sorry I haven't been more vocal. Work and school have been kicking my butt!

Hubby does have a Craftster account but the question is whether or not he's actually on. The answer there is no, so say as much as you want Smiley

Well good to know. I thought I had the male poppet made but then the hands didnt work and then I didnt have anymore material that color so I sewed a new one with new material. And have some of the female one stuffed. I suppose doing alittle at a time is better than not at all right? and IsikkahJai I like the chance to have and intimate swap and get to know everyone better too.

I'm practicing embroidery eyes for one of my poppets. It's for a baby girl that needs a "safe" poppet. Although I don't know how I can do that with the hair. Hmm...just sew it down tightly I guess... Still looking for the right material for the dress. A trip to Joanns remnants/clearence bins sounds like a good idea to me  Grin

Ok so I am finishing up a cross stitch wedding present for my cousin, and Trying to keep from getting the cold my husband and daughter have right now. Once this cross stitch is done, I am in full time poppet mode. Then once the poppets are done. I have 2 or 3 flapper costumes to make and a princess leia costume. Gonna be a busy month.

Oh no! *sends healthy thoughts* Don't stress yourself out too much.

I almost have a poppet done for a certain little girl Smiley I'm really loving the hair I chose for her. The other poppet...I may need to change my original idea, depending on how much time I end up having. School's been busy to say the least. I'm sad because my original idea would have been a fun challenge, but I'm sure I can make something else look good too.
