Truth time:  my original project was going to be a batik on cotton of my husband's shed.  I was too cheap to buy the wax and pen, and fabric dye.  I used white glue , cheap cotton, and watered down fabric paint.  It's too embarassing to tell the rest.

Anyhoo, here's my submission.  I tried to perfect my granny square owl.  I used all yarns that I had in my stash.  The eyes are 2 buttons.  The branch is some wooded dry vines I found in the backyard tied together with wire.  I crocheted some leaves in different cotton, wool, and acrylic yarn.  The cotton and silk doily in the metal ring is an old project, but seemed to me to make a cool moon.

And yes, my bathroom walls are a deep orange.  My husband's choice of color.  He loves those deep hues!!

I do like all the autumn tones in the leaves and that you've used real sticks. The owl is, of course, sooo cute!

Love it, it's very reminiscent of a Macrame owl (I'm desperate for a comeback in my lifetime  Wink, but way cooler. Sometimes the mistakes you make end up working out better don't you think?

Oh she would be perfect in the hallway or entry way with a small table below filled with other odd and end owls....hmmmm Gonna have to stare hard and figure out how to reproduce her! (You wont mind if your idea is "borrowed" will you?) I think she is neat!

And I remember the macrame owls! never had one but lots of other macrame...and OHHH also the string art? What was it called? tiny nails set into  a board and string woven all around making pics....UGHHH cant remember...loved doing it tho!

Back when harvest gold and olive green were your household colors!  Cheesy Wink Dang just aged myself didnt I?  Grin
