Another scrap quilt finished, but oy! The puckering!

Wash it!  I find washing a quilt fixes a lot of stuff!

It is a wonderful and interesting design...I am glad you did not give up on it...it is not ruined...it is unique and handmade, made with a person in mind, personal, PERFECT!

I had to google "diagonal shear in quilts" to figure out what you were refering to as a problem. Frankly I think it is really beautiful. I agree that we are our own worst critics when it comes to something where we feel we fell short. Remember that even when things don't come out to your high standards they are still better than the standards of others around you Half joke but half true....

I hate when I get a bad seam, but I almost always leave them in.  It's not as likely to be noticed after washing, and it's a hand made item.  Of course, just once I'd love to have every seam be perfect on a quilt, but I don't think I'll actually ever get there.

I think it looks fabulous.  It's got this great funky abstract art look to it - I'm no good at lovely free flowing stuff like that. 

It's gorgeous and hopefully your friend will appreciate the hardwork and craftsmanship in it.  I bet he won't notice anything you're seeing as a "mistake"

You have not seen puckers until you've seen the quilt I'm working on. Seriously, I don't even see anything wrong with yours, especially after seeing the HUGE mistakes on the backing of my quilt  . Anyway, yours looks fantastic! Scrappy quilts are the best.
