I signed up for the Crafter's Apron Swap, co-organized by LesliesHappyHeart and susanab - there is still time for YOU to sign up!!  Shocked Cheesy  Cheesy

Before I get my partner, I decided to make a trial run of the apron.  Here's what I came up with:

This is a really easy pattern with five good-sized pockets - perfect for wearing during crafting.  LesliesHappyHeart includes a link for the pattern on the swap sign up info post.  I used decorator fabric for the apron base and all five pockets.  It's kind of a canvassy fabric - there was a vast selection at JoAnn's - lots of variety.  The apron ties and lining were made using quilter's 100% cotton fabrics.

The combinations for this type of apron are endless, and you can totally make this apron to fit your personality, or your partner's!  Hop on over to the sign up post and join us - all the swaps these two ladies host are fun for all!  Hope to see you there!!

(Nice plug for the swap, fiddlegirl8!)

That is one awesome-looking apron! You did a great job with the fabric selections; and your sewing looks perfect!  This would be a great gift, because the fabrics can be chosen with the recipient in mind, and it is so functional!

Thanks susanab!  Grin
You can probably find state stuff for your state at a library, chamber of commerce, or even a highway patrol office - me being in the capital city of Kansas gives me a lot of places to pick up maps -but it is really nice that I work for the state and these are on the first floor of our building.
PS - I decided today to make a Man Apron for my brother - He is a fireman and lives kinda out in the country; he has CHICKENS!!  So, I'm thinking I can come up with some fabrics that would be manly for him - he's a great cook too, both inside and out.   Cheesy

Great Apron! I loved that swap and the apron pattern.

I think the chicken fabric is my favorite, but I love all the colors you chose.

I too have been toying around w/ sneaking a little state recognition in swaps. I found mosquito playing cards at WalMart, that's our state bird dontchaknow Cheesy
