So we recently moved into a house we were renting from my husbands friends family and they told us we were allowed to paint whatever we wanted, however we wanted etc.  I asked my 6 year old what kind of bedroom he wanted and he told me Superman and right away I knew what we were gonna do.

His room was the first that had to be finished in the house before we moved in.  It was straight plaster walls that had been left untended in a house with 5 cats for years.  So it started out looking like this....

After my husband spackling and sanding for 2 days in 100 degree weather with just a fan, the room was ready to paint.  I got my colors ready and started priming and painting.

After 3 days of priming and painting and cutting trim and sanding and lots and lots of sweating it finally looked like this:

We moved in all his furniture and put his comforter on and it really does look amazing.

i decided I wanted his curtains to look like a giant cape. I wanted it to be 2 halves of the symbol so that when they were closed it made one big symbol but open it was 2 peices.   So we went to walmart and got some bright red fabric (I could not find bright red curtains anywhere!!)   Some of that no sew hem tape and got to ironing!! He had so much fun making his curtains.  Then.. We cut out the BIGGEST FREEZER PAPER STENCIL EVER!!!!!!

I got that spray paint for fabric that they have at ac moore now and we got to spraying.

Once it was dry ( My son had the hardest time waiting the hour for the paint to dry)  We went to hang them up.  We found that there was no curtain rod.  The day before I had bought tons to hang curtains in the living room so I had to save the day!!!!

There are a few more lil projects we are gonna do.  Cover his face plates with comics and make him a superman clock like this one.

In the end all that matters is that it's Jax approved.
