I really like the look of the dresden plate quilts but wasn't sure I wanted to invest that much time into a large quilt, so I thought I'd make a pillow.  It is 20 inches square.  I put the dresden in the center and thought in looked boring so I added the quarter dresdens in each corner.  I quilted around them with perle cotton.  I added rick rack at the edges.  I'm really happy with how it turned out!

That's really beautiful- you did a fantastic job- I really like the corners and the quilting around the design.

That turned out so nicely, and I love the echo quilting in coloured thread.

Now that you've made a cushion, do you think you'll go on to make a full size quilt?

Absoultely beautiful!  I love the colors you used, the corners, the quilting - I guess the entire thing!  I pinned this and maybe someday it will inspire me to try making a pillow like it.  I have a quilt made from the Dresden Plate and this would go with it so well.

I do think I'll try this on a larger scale.  Maybe a large lap quilt.  I just love it so much!  Cheesy

So cute!  I don't think I'll ever do a full size applique quilt, so this is a great way to play around without committing to something huge.
