I have NEVER completed a baby sweater with so much time to spare before the kid's birth.  Just sewed the buttons on this beauty today and the baby is due in November!  We're all shocked, believe me.

This is a Debbie Bliss pattern called 'Classic Cardigan' from Essential Baby.  I love this pattern, I use it all the time and it's so easy to personalize (say, by using Bernat Satin baby yarn combined with bizarre washable orange mohair yarn that your stepmom's mother donated to you.

By the way, the baby will be a girl, though I started this before we knew the gender and thought the colour combo would be wicked for either a boy or girl.  I still feel that that is true Smiley

I do not have a baby anymore to model this for me, so I went with one of my toddler's animals.  Use your imagination Smiley

Comments or questions always appreciated, thanks for looking, and happy knitting Smiley

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.

Super cute! I agree with you, the colors are great for either a boy or a girl. Nice work Smiley.
