first shirt from scratch

this is the first shirt i've ever made from scratch. Basically, i bought 2 metres of stretchy cotton knit material (it was only $1/metre) and started sewing. I didn't really take any measurements, i just went along with my gut instinct.

THis tank top was originally supposed to be a halter top, but the straps turned out a lot thicker than i wanted them to be, so i just made it into a tank top. The bow was an added extra at the last minute. I attached a safety pin to the back of it so it's removable. I'm not too sure if i like it or not. What do you think? Should i keep the bow or take it off? (and if you think i should take it off, do you think i should stencil anything onto the top to make it less boring?)

I really like that shirt. I'd keep the bow on. It adds a little something extra since the shirt doesn't have a print.
AND..my name is Katrina, too! (Just thought I'd mention that. hehe).

I like the bow too, but if you're not sure just make another pin on extra so you can alternate as you see fit.

i think you should keep the pin on for the fancy occasionsyou have to go to and then take of the pin for more palin ocassions when you dont want to to have so much going on with you clothes (i know it happens to me ALL the time) then is you think it is too plain and you want more excitment you could make differnt pins and cnage it acording to your mood....then again you could not like my ideas so I suggest you put the stencil of the girl shooting herself with butterflies coming out ^.~

by the way I LOVE YOUR TANK TOP and the fact that you made it fom scratch and with out meauring makes it evne cooler good luck with anything else you do!

I love the bow, it's my favorite part.  I suppose if you want to look more casual you could take it off, but I think it makes the whole shirt more interesting.  I can't believe you didn't take measurements!  I wish I had the talent to make my own clothes.

I like it! Personally, I think the bow might look good at the base of one of the straps. Just a personal preference, but I think it looks great right now.

I think i will keep the bow on when i wear it. I think it's cute, but some people that i showed it to when i first made it said the bow was a bit "too much".

I love the bow!  It makes the shirt - which is awesome already, but the bow is really its personality!  ^_^
