I want to make my little patio a haven now that the temperature here in north Florida is dipping in the evenings, but the ceiling is ugly particle board. I'm trying to think of something semi-permanent (I rent) to cover it in. I was thinking about cutting up soda cans (I have PLENTY thanks to my hubby) and hammering a pattern into them and tacking them up with metallic thumb tacks....anyone have any other ideas? Smiley

Paint a canvas drop-cloth either light blue with clouds, or dark blue with stars, and staple it up there.  Then you can take it with you when you move.  Smiley

I was going to suggest a light blue cotton fabric to mimic the sky,
but I like the cloud painted idea very much!

Good luck!

I'm in LOVE with the bamboo beach mats with the colored boarders.  I am thinking you could staple gun them up there in some sort of pattern.  It would bring in a natural element and some fun colors.

You can try patio ceiling stand out with a paper lanterns (can be used bright colors or designer paper / fabric). Paint the ceiling with perfect color pattern that compliments your patio furniture and decor. After paint dries, hang a cluster of lanterns at varying heights; cluster them around an overhead light so they would glow at night.
