this is really awesome.  It makes me rethink my plan for all those old jeans and receiving blankets...

Awesome! Are you a scientist perchance? I only ask because I am and I think it is flipping fantastic how much your pattern looks like gene sequencing output from some programs I've seen. =) Way to go!

That's pretty awesome.  And a pattern that I could actually possibly make without going nuts!  I love the addition of the red in there - if I were to make a used denim quilt, I'd have to thrift some jeans that are not blue, just for this kind of effect.  Great work!

Thank you so much, everyone.  This was a very difficult project for me, as my dad is terminally ill.  I had always meant to make him a quilt, and just never got around to it.  I rushed to finish and give it to him.  He loved it.

Oh, I'm pinning this. It looks so crisp and clean. How did you pull that off? Just really good pressing?

Thank you!  I'm not sure why it looks crisp!  Ha ha. I think it's just the geometric nature of the strips.  I do press and pin everything, though... maybe that helped.

Aw, thank you!  I'm not a scientist, but I do LOVE science!  I have MANY times tossed around the idea of making a human genome quilt.
