Ashgrim, those are great little books! And I love the brain in a jar.
Knickertwist, that house isn't going to know what hit it. And why not a stone floor on the second story? It's a halloween house, after all, and maybe the monsters prefer stone. ^_^

@Ashgrim  Love the books   Is that the Fantasy puzzle house you're working on? What's the ceiling height in those rooms? It looks a fair bit smaller than the Victorian. I have one stashed away, determined NOT to start a new project til I clear away at least a few of the ones on the go now. But seeing yours has started some ideas percolating. Darn it!

That's egg carton alright and it's now spilled into the whole house



I've managed a bit of progress on the exterior. I've covered the whole thing in sewing paper tissue which will be painted and aged to give the whole place a sort of creepy wrinkled look. I've also painted the old shingles with really thinned-out acrylic paint.



The shutters will not stay blue... they'll be painted as soon as I let things dry a bit.

Any ideas what I might include in/on this house? I'm all ears.

Knickertwist, that looks so great!  The only humble contributions I can think of are some kind of creepy looking mailbox and maybe some window boxes with dead plants in them.  Can you make the shutters look like they are trying to fall off maybe, just to add some decrepitude? Just a couple thoughts....

As someone who worries about such things as second story stone floors not making sense AND as someone who has had to rip out the work of a previous owner who used copious amounts of Voldemortian glue, I think a second story stone floor is PERFECT.

Maybe a trunk under one of the first floor windows... complete with hand of the trapped person sneaking out from under the lid. Maybe a false trap door to an underground level -- ooh, could be propped open, with the open part facing the closed part of the house (so it's not viewable) and something slithering out (or into) that (obviously, I watched the Munsters growing up, lol)... shrunken heads hanging in a window or two...   

Oh, and having a surgical room in a residential structure always freaks me out.

Ooh good point! Or just a tray with blood stained surgical tools on a little side table or something. Scalpels, scissors, some kind of pliers, and one of those kidney shaped dishes filled with bloody cotton.

I think some sheet covered furniture adds a nice abandoned feeling.

Got a little more done today. Inside I've added some plaster to the walls which will be stained with potion splatters and other good witchy things.

Outside had begun the process of grungification.



Still a bit of a mess but it's heading in the right direction. Not entirely pleased with the shutters but I'll keep at them. I do wish I could unhinge the shutters a la bunny1kenobi's suggestion but those things aren't budging.
