I have used sandpaper before--it is a good idea!  Since my little guy lives in the woods, I was thinking of a live moss roof but I know I would not keep it alive...and I don't want real mushrooms growing in my house! Cheesy (I finally have shitake mushrooms growing on an old tree in my woods!!)...

I love the towel roof--I think I am going to try that on a scrap of lumber...

Thanks for all of the resources and blogs...I think it is going to be great to have ONE place to find so many ideas and inspirations for this house and future houses!

Oh wildbird--I love that house!!!

Thanks RoaneFaery, the sandpaper idea is great! I'm also toying with the idea of a straw roof.

Oh Knickertwist - that house does not disappoint. I love how you did the window dressings. I still need to tackle those in my own house.

I was thinking of printing off some of those glitter houses for a halloween village, but I don't think I have enough time, sadly. There will definitely be a christmas one. We bought an aqua blue tree yesterday, so I foresee a lot of vintage decoration in pale yellows, pale pinks, and white.

I forgot that I had these large wooden beads (about 1 1/2 inches) with flat bottoms, so I printed off some fire and glued it onto one with a marble on the front and I must say that my oven is back in business. I have to work on the decoration and the pipes, but I'm excited again about my wee house!

I am going to see if I can get my black cat to contribute some of his hair to make a few paintbrushes... Cheesy...I think I need to concentrate on one room at a time now to get done...

Printed fire?  I need that for my fireplaces!  Is it a free source? Cheesy

Your dream of a Christmas glitter village sounds wonderful!

Dreary, rainy day here and I've spent all of it at the kitchen table making little books... 42 of them to be exact!

They are all different sizes. I hope they'll look lovely and jumbled when I cram them into one of those teeny weeny rooms  Cheesy

Here's a pic with a quarter for scale.

I also think I've settled on a title... "The Story Tellers House"

Love those books! Do you just glue the pages into little bits of leather?

Yep. I make little bundles of paper and then glue one edge and let it dry. Then I just use leather, paper or fabric to cover them. Easy peasy.

Everyone's houses are just so wonderful!

Inspired by this thread, and a recent library book, I'm planning to start work transforming this old gin box into a 'one up one down' haberdashery Cheesy

The double doors open fully out and close with magnets. Some repair needed!

I want it to be fairly plain paper and details on the outside, and then bursting with fabrics and notions on the inside. These are some of the bits I've been working on for the walls. The rectangle is going to be a picture, and the moon is for the ceiling. Not sure where the other two come in yet. I'm just going to make lots of bits and see how I can fit them together.

No furniture as yet, but it'll probably involve spools. And the top section lifts up so I'm thinking of popping a rope ladder in there for access to whatever I do on the roof. Not sure yet though.
