I love the cigar box house Smiley

Knickertwist, I would be interested in seeing your sale display if you have pictures you are willing to share, I've always had problems displaying my mini things in creative and attractive ways.   Hope that's not too far off the subject line, we are still talking miniature!

I haven't quite perfected the whole display thing just yet. I'm probably the worst person to ask  Cheesy

I've used a shadowbox with a hinged lid propped up to show stuff which worked pretty well. Sort of the whole "ooh, what's in there!" curiosity gets stirred. I've found it helpful to place a sign next to things so people are drawn in. I also use old books a lot. They build height and you can contrast the colour of your items with the cover.

I don't have any pics of this weekend but here's some of my studio set up.

I haven't worked on my house at all today except for making notes but I do plan on getting a chunk done this week... hopefully kicked off by some awesome progress this evening. Who am I kidding? I'll probably fall asleep at 9:30.

So apparently I am insane. I have decided that I am going to cut these tiny wooden sticks in to small pieces and make a parquet wood floor. Yeah, you read that right. It is going to take forever.

It was meant to be....he did look at me weird when I asked for the tubes...and even weirder when I asked if I could peek through his trash... Cheesy

I've been a busy little bee! I finished the interior walls and floors:

I also made some apothecary bottles out of beads:

And a whole bunch of food, dishes, etc.:

My house is inhabited by a gypsy who's settled down and sells potions, herbs, etc. from her house.  The bottom floor is going to be a living room/shop and kitchen, and the top floor is going to be a sitting room and bedroom.  I moved the opening in the top floor because it really annoyed me that it was right in front of the doorway, but I haven't decided if I'm going to tackle a circular staircase or just make a ladder.

I agree with you! That opening drives me crazy. I like the idea of moving it.

The antique house is fantastic! What a treasure.

When I was a kid my Dad made me a doll house (with working lights!). He also made a tiny dollhouse to go inside the dollhouse, that was an exact replica. I still have the tiny one (the big one is at my parents' house)

I dreamed I started my house, but I haven't.  Undecided

blue_lalita great work! I agree that the stairs and their placement are a giant pain in the bottom. I've fiddled with or removed the stairs entirely from my houses.

Batgirl that little house is a wonder! I love it!

I didn't get any work done on my house yesterday but today is the day that I get started on it... come hell or high water! I think I've settled on a sort of fairy tale theme but not any one inparticular. What I'd eventually like to do is a few houses, each based on different children's author (Hans Christian Andersen, Brothers Grimm) but this time it will have to be a mishmash.

I am fairly certain that I'll be removing the stairs from my house entirely and building a beanstalk throught the place! But today it's floors and ceilings... wish me luck!
